Privacy Policy

1. Introduction
Clipper AI is a video clipping and editing app. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app handles, why it is handled, how it may be shared, and the controls available to you.
By using Clipper AI, you agree to the practices described here.
2. Account Information
Clipper AI requires an account so projects, credits, subscription access, and exports stay attached to the correct user. You may sign up with email and password or use a supported account sign-in option.
Depending on the method you choose, we receive an account identifier, your email address, and basic profile information such as your name. If you use Sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, we receive the private relay address Apple provides. Passwords are protected using a salted one-way hash and are not stored in readable form.
Each account receives a unique internal customer ID. This ID ties together your projects, clips, settings, support requests, and subscription status without using your email address as the database key.
3. Videos, Audio, Transcripts, and Projects
When you import a video, Clipper AI handles the information needed to create your requested output, which may include:
- The source video and its audio
- A supported source link you submit for import
- File name, format, duration, and size
- Speech transcripts and word timing
- Suggested clips, scores, crop positions, captions, and headlines
- Edits, overlays, saved-project status, and export settings
This information is uploaded to our cloud infrastructure and processed to provide the clipping and editing service. Do not submit a video you are not authorized to upload and process.
4. AI-Assisted Processing
Clipping, transcription, scoring, reframing, and related features may use third-party AI processing and model providers. The source material and instructions needed for the feature are transmitted for processing, and the resulting transcript, analysis, or media is returned to Clipper AI.
We use this material to provide the feature you requested, operate the service, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot failures. We do not sell your videos or use them for advertising.
5. Social Connections and Publishing
If you connect a supported social account, the relevant platform provides authorization tokens and basic account or channel information so Clipper AI can show the connection and publish only when you ask it to. Sensitive authorization credentials are encrypted at rest.
We do not publish without an action from you. You can disconnect a social account from the app, and you may also revoke access from that platform's own account settings. Disconnecting deletes the stored authorization credentials for that platform from our systems.
We request the narrowest permissions each feature needs. We do not use connected-platform data for advertising, and we do not sell it or transfer it to data brokers.
5.1 YouTube
Clipper AI uses YouTube API Services to let you publish clips to your own channel. By connecting a YouTube account you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of your information is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
We request only these permissions:
- View your YouTube account (
youtube.readonly) — used solely to read the id and name of the channel you are connecting, so the app can show which channel is linked and upload to the right one - Manage your YouTube videos (
youtube.upload) — used solely to upload a clip you explicitly choose to publish
We store the channel id, channel name, and encrypted authorization tokens. We do not read your watch history, subscriptions, comments, analytics, or any video you did not create in Clipper AI. Stored YouTube data is retained until you disconnect the channel or delete your account, and is deleted at that point.
You can revoke Clipper AI's access to your Google Account at any time at Google security settings.
Limited Use: Clipper AI's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
5.2 TikTok
If you connect TikTok, we receive your open id and basic public profile information (display name and avatar) so the app can show which account is linked, along with the creator settings TikTok requires us to display before a post — such as who can view the video and whether commenting, duet, or stitch is available. We upload a video only when you initiate a post, using the privacy level you select on that screen. We store the open id, display name, and encrypted authorization tokens, and delete them when you disconnect TikTok or delete your account.
5.3 Facebook and Instagram
If you connect a Facebook Page or an Instagram professional account, we receive the page or account id, its name, and the access tokens needed to publish. We use them only to publish a clip you explicitly choose to post, and to show which destination is connected. We do not read your feed, friends, followers, direct messages, or advertising data. We store the account id, name, and encrypted authorization tokens, and delete them when you disconnect the account or delete your account.
6. Purchases
Paid plans are sold through the App Store. Payment processing is handled by Apple, and subscription status is managed with a third-party subscription management provider. We never receive or store your payment card details. We receive only the purchase and entitlement information needed to unlock the correct plan for your customer ID.
7. Support and Feedback
When you contact support or send feedback from Settings, your email draft includes diagnostic information that helps us reproduce a problem: your customer ID, plan, app version, platform, device model, operating system version, and timestamp. You can review the draft before sending it. The app does not include your password or session token.
Support messages and attachments you send are used to respond to your request and improve the service.
8. Technical and Service Data
We may process limited technical information needed to secure, operate, and improve Clipper AI, including:
- IP address and approximate network location
- App version, device type, operating system, and request timestamps
- Upload, processing, export, and publishing status
- Error reports, performance information, and abuse-prevention signals
- Credit usage, storage usage, and subscription entitlement state
9. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information, videos, transcripts, or projects, and we do not share them with advertisers or data brokers.
Information may be shared only in these limited cases:
- With cloud infrastructure, AI processing, authentication, subscription management, and communication providers acting on our behalf
- With a social platform when you connect it or ask Clipper AI to publish
- With Apple when you use platform services such as sign-in or purchases
- When required by law, or when reasonably necessary to protect our rights, users, or public safety
- With your explicit direction or consent
10. Storage, Retention, and Deletion
Account information is retained while your account is active. Projects, source media, clips, transcripts, and edits are retained as needed to keep your library available and to provide the service.
Unsaved completed projects are scheduled to expire after the period displayed in the app, currently six days. Saving a project removes that automatic project expiry while the project remains in your account and within applicable storage limits.
You can delete individual projects in the app. Deleting your account from Settings permanently removes the account and associated content from active systems, except for limited records we must retain for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or transaction-record obligations. Backup copies may take a limited period to cycle out.
How to delete your data
- Disconnect one platform: open Settings → Social accounts, select the connected account, and remove it. The stored authorization tokens and account details for that platform are deleted immediately. You can also revoke access from the platform itself — Google, TikTok, or Facebook.
- Delete one project: press and hold a project in the library and choose Delete. Its source video, clips, transcript, and edits are removed.
- Delete everything: open Settings → Delete account. This signs you out immediately, erases your account record and every connected-platform credential, and queues the permanent deletion of all stored source videos, clips, posters, and transcripts. The erasure completes in the background and does not require the app to stay open. Usage records that exist purely to prevent abuse of free credits are retained in a form that cannot identify you.
If you cannot access the app, email info+clipperai@agiapplications.org from your account's email address and we will process the deletion for you.
11. Security
We use safeguards designed to protect your information, including encrypted network connections, access controls, revocable sessions, one-time sign-in challenges, hashed passwords and session tokens, and encryption for sensitive third-party authorization credentials. No system can guarantee absolute security.
12. Your Choices and Rights
You can:
- View your customer ID and account details in Settings
- Correct supported account preferences
- Save, export, or delete projects
- Disconnect supported social accounts
- Restore App Store purchases
- Log out and revoke the current app session
- Permanently delete your account in Settings
Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a portable copy of your personal information. To make a privacy request, use Contact Support in the app or email info+clipperai@agiapplications.org.
13. Children's Privacy
Clipper AI is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it.
14. International Processing
Information may be processed in countries other than where you live, where data protection laws may differ. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for these transfers.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect product, legal, or operational changes. The latest version will remain available on this page. Material changes may also be communicated in the app or by email where appropriate.
16. Contact
For privacy questions, use Contact Support in Clipper AI Settings so your diagnostic information is included, or email info+clipperai@agiapplications.org.
